Evan Prodromou

Evan Prodromou, based in Montréal, directs Open Technology at the Open Earth Foundation and research for the Social Web Foundation. He is a Board member at CoSocial.ca. As a software developer and open source advocate, Evan co-authored ActivityPub, the W3C standard for decentralized social networking used by platforms such as Mastodon. (Book: ActivityPub: Programming for the Social Web) Evan also co-chaired the Social Web Working Group at W3C and co-authored ActivityStreams 2.0 and OStatus. Evan’s other major contributions to the open web have been Wikitravel, Identi.ca, StatusNet, pump.io, Breather, GNU social, and Fuzzy.ai. He loves to garden with native plants, make wine, cook, and live an examined life.
