Happy Canada Day from all of us at WordCamp Canada 2026. 🍁
There’s no better day to celebrate what this community builds together and we’ve got something to share.
WordPress doesn’t run on software alone.
It runs on the people who fix the bugs nobody filed yet. The ones who translate a plugin so someone halfway around the world can use it in their language. The designers who make the block editor a little more intuitive. The writers who turn a developer’s notes into documentation a beginner can actually follow. The community organizers who make sure the next person through the door feels like they belong.
That’s what Contributor Day is. It’s the WordPress community doing the work that keeps this project alive together, in the same room, for one full day.
And it’s coming to WordCamp Canada 2026.
Whether you’ve contributed a hundred patches or you’ve never opened a Trac ticket in your life, Contributor Day has a table for you. Every Make team. Every skill set. Every kind of contribution: code, translation, documentation, accessibility testing, support, design, community. If you use WordPress, you have something to give back to it. Contributor Day is where that happens.
WordCamp Canada has always believed that showing up to contribute is just as important as showing up to learn. This year, we’re making space for both.
We’re still working out the details – date, format, table leads, registration and we’ll announce everything soon. For now, we just want you to know it’s on the calendar, and we want you there.
More soon. Stay tuned. 🍁
