Ever used WordPress and thought about giving something back but weren’t sure where to start? Contributor Day is where you start.
WordCamp Canada 2026 kicks off with Contributor Day on November 4 at the Tech Collider, BCIT’s downtown Vancouver campus at 555 Seymour Street. It’s a purpose-built tech event space, easy to reach by transit and SkyTrain, and the perfect room for a full day where new and experienced contributors sit down together and work on the WordPress project itself. Part hands-on workshop, part networking, part crash course in open source, all under one roof.
You do not need to be a developer. If you write code, great, there’s a table for you. If you don’t, there’s still plenty to do: documentation, translating WordPress into other languages, design, accessibility testing, support, marketing, photography, and community work. Experienced table leads guide every group, so first-timers are never left guessing. All you really need is curiosity and a willingness to learn.
This is Contributing, one of the three values WordCamp Canada 2026 is built on, in its purest form. You spend the day meeting people (Connections), joining a community that keeps WordPress running (Community), and leaving with a real contribution to your name (Contributing).
